In softball, it's hard to pick against Garrard County, which came back with resolve after losing in last year's regional final and which has had a marvelous season. I'll take Pulaski County, the host team, as a second choice.
Baseball is trickier, with so much riding on pitching matchups. The draw will be interesting, too, although with the way the district tournaments came out, the four district champions won't have much of an edge in that draw.
Based on how they're playing now, I'll put Boyle County, Mercer County and West Jessamine (in alphabetical order) on my list of teams most likely to win it, and I won't commit beyond that just yet. I'll take Somerset and Southwestern for the second tier.
As for the dates, the athletic directors at Boyle (the baseball site) and Pulaski (the softball site) plan to play first-round games on Monday, semifinals on Tuesday and their respective championship games on Wednesday if the weather allows.
