This format works well enough, except that the deeper into December the games go, the greater the possibility of some pretty chilly night games — or a 4-inch snow.

The crowd might be different this year since Trinity and St. X can’t meet in the finals, but Male is on the opposite side of the bracket, along with the northern Kentucky schools and those from Fayette County.

Personally, I wish it were two games a day for three days, but there doesn’t seem to be much interest in that. The current plan certainly works, though, so there’s no complaint. All in all, I think a good decision by the KHSAA.
