Seven area golfers will play this week in the KHSAA State Golf Championships, the first state competition of the school year.
The Danville boys became the first local team to qualify for state in several years by finishing second in their regional last week. Jonathan Beto, Andrew McKinney, Spencer McKinney, Nick Serey and J.B. Williams will play for the Admirals and will be joined by individual qualifier Dakota Jarman of Boyle County in the boys tournament Tuesday and Wednesday at Bowling Green Country Club.
Rachel Pingleton of Boyle County will play in the girls tournament Friday and Saturday on the same course.
Pingleton and Williams are playing at state for the second consecutive year.
