Appeals court hears case on Ky. high school sports
A federal appeals court in Cincinnati has heard a case that could have a major impact on high school sports in Kentucky, particularly at private schools. The parents of a presentation athlete sued the Kentucky High School Athletic Association over a rule that limits merit-based aid at private high schools to not more than 25 percent of the tuition cost of a student who wishes to play a KHSAA-sanctioned sport.
The appeals court heard arguments Wednesday in the latest step in a two-year legal battle. Read more on the story in accounts from The Kentucky Enquirer and The Associated Press.
