Girls regional soccer semis moved to Boyle
Semifinal games that are now scheduled for Thursday in the girls 15th Region soccer tournament have been moved from Somerset to Boyle County’s Rebel Stadium.
That decision was made this morning after it was determined that heavy rain that has fallen since Tuesday night and was expected to continue into Thursday would make Somerset’s Clara Morrow Field unplayable.
The games will be played on Boyle’s artificial turf, beginning with Mercer County vs. Somersat at 6 p.m. and followed by Pulaski County vs. Boyle County at 8 p.m.
The championship game, which has been pushed back to Saturday, could also be played at Boyle. Boyle girls coach Brian Deem said a decision will be made by noon Friday as to whether the field at Somerset will be playable for Saturday’s final. If not, it will be moved to Boyle.
