Boyle, Danville wrestlers in state tournament
Five wrestlers from Boyle County and three from Danville will compete today in the KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament in Lexington.
The tournament has been shortened from three days to two thanks to its new venue at the Kentucky Horse Park’s Alltech Arena, where the large arena floor allows space for six mats.
Here are the local competitors, listed by weight class:
- 106: Lucas McCain, Boyle County
- 126: Daniel Lannum, Danville
- 145: Zack Cope, Boyle County
- 152: Kody Wade, Boyle County
- 160: Dallin Tritapoe, Boyle County
- 170: Rhodes Bell, Danville
- 220: Austin Muntz, Boyle County
- 285: Elliott Porter, Danville
Competition begins at 10 a.m. today with rounds 1 and 2. The third round begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, with the finals scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
