Cross country invitationals begin

The cross country season shifts into a higher gear as two of the three invitational meets hosted by Advocate-area schools will be held within the next week.

First comes Danville’s E.G. Plummer Invitational, which will be held Saturday at Admiral Stadium. The first of the two varsity races is at 11:30 a.m., following the Centre College Invitational on the same course earlier in the day.

Then, the Boyle County Invitational will be held Thursday at Millennium Park. The varsity races will begin at about 6:15 p.m., following two middle school races.

The only other local meet that isn’t an all-comers is the Lincoln County Invitational on Oct. 17.
