Ads advance to All ‘A’ quarterfinals
It was a successful return to the All “A” Classic for the Danville boys, who defeated Williamsburg 67-55 in their first-round game late Thursday night.
Danville broke a 26-all tie with a 16-2 run over the first 6:01 of the third quarter to take a 42-28 lead that Williamsburg couldn’t overcome. Jacody Taylor led the Admirals with 28 points, followed by Duran Elmore with 15 and Max Meckes with 11 in the last of the eight first-round games in Richmond, which started at 10:20 p.m. and ended at 11:38. The Admirals will play the West Coast game again tonight, as they face defending champion and No. 7-ranked Shelby Valley in a scheduled 9:30 p.m. start. Shelby Valley advanced with a 73-34 cakewalk over Ballard Memorial.
Tonight’s game, along with every other game in the final three rounds of the boys and girls All “A” tourneys today through Sunday, will be broadcast live by the Wazoo Sports Network on television at digital channel 18.2 or Time Warner Cable channel 305 and online at www.wazoosports.com.
