Uncategorized VistaPrint is the most amazing invention in the world!
Not only can you get everything for cheap, sometimes even free you just pay shipping, but it comes in super fast, too!
Last weekend, my fiance and I designed and ordered our save-the-date cards on a Saturday night. We got 100 cards printed front and back, 10 extra envelopes, three photo uploads and free standard shipping all for $56.19!! Isn’t that an AWESOME deal?!
But, the best part is that standard shipping supposedly takes 14 days, but… I got an e-mail Wednesday or so saying our order had shipped, and the package was sitting in front of my apartment door Friday when I got home from work!
Plus, the cards turned out great! They look perfect… I didn’t have to worry about whether or not they would turn out.

Uncategorized In the Office of University Communications we have two student workers helping out for the summer. It’s been good practice for when I’ll be supervisor over the work-study students, but it’s weird being the “boss.”
Today I took a business trip to Wal-Mart with the 16-year-old student worker. That’s when I learned that when she doesn’t really want to do something or she doesn’t agree with the way it’s done, she’ll say, “Whatever you say, boss.”
Hearing those words come out of her mouth kind of shocked me at first just because she called me “boss.” I hope it’s not because I was acting bossy or anything such, but it was a weird thought that I’m actually someone’s boss now. It may just be a boss/supervisor of the students who will work in our office, but still… I mean, I was one of those students just a couple months ago.
In a way it worries me being the “boss” because there will still be a few students working in our office who worked there in previous years with me as friends… will they respect me? We’re getting almost a completely new crew, though, so my hopes are that I can set a new standard and no one will see me strictly as their friend. I’m going to learn a new balance between friendship and being the “boss.”
Anyone ever been in a position like this going from friend to boss? Please share your tips!

Uncategorized After two months of waiting, I finally got our engagement photos back. Best part is, it was perfect timing! Why? #1 Because Vistaprint is having it’s semi-annual clearance sale (for making Save-the-Date cards!), and #2 Because my fiance came to visit this weekend so he got to help design the Save-the-Dates!

Uncategorized So I looked at my blog calendar to see how long it had been since I wrote… looks like I’m going to be writing every Thursday, for some reason that’s just the day I remember. Life has been busy starting the new job, and I’ve been entertaining myself with online TV (Bachelorette, Big Brother, and Rookie Blue) in the evenings.
Today for lunch I had my first real visitor to the apartment. I finally decided to clean up and put the last few things away, and I’m really liking the apartment. The only problem I’ve discovered is the shower… it keeps dripping. It sounds like the water is still on, but there’s no way for me to physically make it stop. Time to call maintenance. But, at least I don’t have to pay the water bill.
Tonight was the first time I would say I actually cooked something for dinner… it was only mac and cheese (the Toy Story 3 kind because it was the first that I saw), but I used the stove and my new red, silicone utensils so it counts as cooking.
Anyone have any suggestions for one-person meals?? I’m not finding much motivation to cook if I have to eat the same thing for the next three days because of all the leftovers.

Uncategorized I have a friend that says she “in love with love.” I always heard people say that all my friends would get married or engaged right after senior year… that could never seem more true. Another one of my friends got engaged just last night!
It seems like every other weekend there is a wedding, and when there’s not someone else goes and gets engaged!
It seems so funny though because just last summer, right before I got engaged, my friends were over at my house for a pool party and the girl talk kicked in. Some of us talked about how we didn’t know if we were ready to get married anytime soon, we wanted to travel, get a job, or do something else awesome first… the next weekend I was engaged. Since then, one friend got married (she was already engaged), another got engaged and married, a few more have gotten engaged, one broke up with her boyfriend, and of course several others started dating.
Looks like there are more weddings to get excited about and more love to celebrate! I can’t wait to celebrate love May 21, 2011!

Uncategorized I was only halfway nervous going into work today, but overall it was a great day!
It wasn’t nearly as overwhelming as I expected. By lunch time, though, I was ready for a nap. Not having any motivation to wake up this summer (until now) was playing games with me at 7 a.m. today. I’ll get used to it after a week or so.
I learned a lot of new things at work today, and I’m looking forward to tomorrow (actually getting to use some of the things I learned).
For now, though, I’m bored in my apartment. I thought about going to bed earlier, but it was still light outside… I didn’t want to be that lame. Instead I’m reading a book that I found in my desk at work… I’m hoping it will give me some wisdom on life after graduation (#1) because that’s the title and (#2) because I’m already there and it’s time I figure it out.
