East Jesssamine Middle School FFA chapter gets national grant for community garden

The FFA chapter at East Jessamine Middle School is one of only five in the state and 138 in the nation to receive a grant to help fight hunger in the community. The chapter, led by teacher Ashley Puckett, received the full possible amount of $2,500 from the National FFA Organization’s Food For All program. …

West Jessamine Middle School students perform with district honor band

Eighteen West Jessamine Middle School students took part in the District 7 Middle School Honor Band last weekend at Kentucky State University. Students auditioned and were selected to perform with other middle-school students from Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Harrison, Jessamine, Scott, and Woodford counties.
