Actually, Ed Jones is still employed by the Jessamine County School system, he will not be serving as principal at West High.

Ok. Maybe I misread the sheet for one school then. I was thinking about running for the parent rep for my son’s middle school but I read it that I couldn’t because my wife works in the system but not at that school. I will have to go back and see if we still have the paperwork and read it again.

Good question. I just looked up the statute (KRS 160.345). The restriction is on employees or relative employees of that specific school, as well as employees or relatives of employees in the district administrative office.

Do the requirements for SBDM vary from school to school? I didn’t think an employee of the system or relative of an employee could sit on the SBDM as a parent representative. I could be wrong.

Congratulations Jordan, Steven, Jessica, Maddison, Felicia, Kayla, Derrick, Sarah, Damian, Tyler, Zach and Rachel. As the very first class of Youth Leadership Jessamine, you have the distinction of being Charter Members of “You Lead” and will be introduced to many “Treasurers” of Jessamine County – some open and some hidden. The next year in this program will be VERY enlightening and you should have lots of fun!
