I’ll have stories soon from last night’s school-board meeting, including one about setting the tax rate (hearing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday) and one about the discussion of expanded drug testing for student drivers and athletes.
The board also gave approval to the financing agreement with West Jessamine High School for the purchase of 210 iPads, which will be used primarily by juniors for ACT prep. The board also approved change orders to add three steel beams in the Nicholasville Elementary renovation and to change suppliers for a generator at the new elementary school (with no net change in cost).
After about an hour in executive session Monday night, the board emerged without a finalization of superintendent Lu Young’s annual evaluation. That will be on the agenda for Thursday’s meeting in addition to setting the tax rate.
