Heavy snow
It’s really coming down out there big time. Weather.com says the snow will run out by mid-afternoon, but for now we’re accruing lots of snow. If anyone out there takes a photo of the snow, I’d love to post it up here. E-mail me your photos at bkleppinger@amnews.com.
Snowy Garrard County
I went on a nice drive along U.S. 27 this afternoon and snapped some photos of these horses huddling for warmth and jogging in the snow. I also took some snowy photos along old U.S. 27, which is now eerily quiet and mostly void of traffic.
If you have any snow photos, e-mail them to bkleppinger@amnews.com and I’ll try to post some of them up here.
Garrard Animal Shelter Photos
Here are some bonus photos I took for my story about recent changes at the Garrard County Animal Shelter. Click on a photo to blow it up bigger.
Snow Photos
Karla Sefcak has uploaded some photos she took, including the one above, of construction workers building the new judicial center while it snowed Wednesday morning. Check out the full album here.
Garrard Adult Ed Photos
Here are some extra photos I took for my profile of the Garrard County Adult Education Center that ran on Sunday.
New Garrard/Lincoln Solid Waste Equipment
Garrard/Lincoln Solid Waste got some brand new recycling equipment recently, and Karla Sefcak was on hand to take some photos of a tour given by Solid Waste Coordinator Chris Thomason. You can check out her full album of photos here. (All photos shown here taken by Karla)
Tobacco Cutting Contest
I was elsewhere on Thursday, but David Brock headed out to the Garrard County Tobacco Cutting Contest, took some photos a wrote a story, which you can read here. David told me he really enjoyed the contest, for many of the same reasons I enjoyed it last year. The ability of the tobacco cutters is simply amazing to cut that much tobacco so fast with so few errors, and the angles, the crowd and everything about the event make it a fun one to take photos of. I’ve posted three of David’s photos that didn’t appear with the story on here.

Colby Arnold stepped down from Garrard County EMS in late August. I’ll have a story about it in Sunday’s paper.
