Farm Bureau awarded $50,000 grant
The Garrard County Farm Bureau has been awarded $50,000 from the state’s County Agricultural Investment Program(CAIP). The award was announced Monday and the Farm Bureau hasn’t even received paperwork from Frankfort yet.
CAIP’s goal is to offer incentives to farmers to diversify their crops. A secretary at the Farm Bureau office told me $50,000 was the full amount Garrard requested. Harrison County was also awarded a $320,000 grant under the same program.
When I get in contact with a top Farm Bureau person, I’ll post more details here.
