Verizon Wireless a winner in my book

My career is all about covering sports. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In the past 17 years since I ventured on this journey, the way I present a point of view and write a story has been expanded, thanks to advanced technology. My writing has been presented to those in our own little world on paper and has expanded to the internet over the past decade.
As part of my job, I am privileged to cover the University of Kentucky. My work appears on our Web site and the Danville Advocate-Messenger, reaching a broad audience that stretches from end of the state to another, not to mention a national audience.
Getting information to that audience faster and quicker involves using cell phone methods to help do my job more efficiently. Verizon Wireless has provided me with an avenue to explore new avenues in technology and helps me get the information as quickly as possible to those who read my work. Thanks to new technology, I can “Tweet” a game – from UK to George Rogers Clark – quickly and efficiently. If you want to know scenes behind the screen, Verizon allows me to do just that in the snap of a finger and the touch of a keyboard.
Verizon offers ESPN MVP, which is like having the world-wide leader at your fingertips 24-7. For example, I was shopping at Kohl’s recently and while I was in line, I got the updates and scores on my favorite teams. It’s an awesome service and I would highly recommend it to my readers.

Here are some facts ESPN MVP that you might enjoy:
ESPN MVP is an application exclusive to Verizon Wireless customers.
ESPN MVP includes news, stats, scores and information on the sports, players and teams.
ESPN MVP automatically refreshes current scores
ESPN MVP offers fantasy team management that allows users to update players and teams, and make changes to their rosters on the go
Users can customize ESPN MVP based on favorite teams, players and columnists.

Facts on the VZ Navigator:
VZ Navigator is Verizon Wireless’ GPS navigation system.
VZ Navigator gives turn-by-turn audible directions to locations when you type in the address, or you can find locations by name or category.
Here is some of the information users can access on VZ Navigator 4.0:
Gas stations and price per gallon unleaded, diesel fuels and E85.
Movie theater listings and show times.
Community events and venues, hotels, banks, ATMs and parking garages.
Five-day weather forecast for home or other cities.
Hospitals, emergency walk-in clinics and pharmacies.
The Navigator will point me toward Nashville, site of this year’s Music City Bowl between Kentucky and Clemson and get me there without having to stop for directions.
