Back again

Because of tehnical difficulties, this blog was down over the weekend and not available for updates. The tweaks have been worked out and everything is up and running again, thanks to the technical support crew at the Danville Advocate-Messenger.

I try to keep it updated everyday when technically possible. We are coving Eastern Kentucky’s season-opener tonight at McBrayer Arena for the Associated Press. Will be coming home to watch Kentucky at North Carolina. I will provide my thoughts and insights as the evening progresses and then regresses.

We always cover Kentucky’s home games, but we cover the road games on ocassion. I feel like Kentucky will pull off an upset and give second-year coach Billy Gillispie his first “signature win” at Kentucky.

Although Kentucky lost to VMI in its season-opener, it was just the first game and Kentucky has all season to get better and improve. I would feel better if the Cats were playing the Tar Heels at Rupp Arena, but I still feel like the Cats will do well against Carolina.

* As for the football team, the team’s loss to Vandy was a downer, but when looking at the whole picture, this team has managed to get six wins by scraping and clawing. The only real disappointing setback was the loss at Florida.

* Kentucky still has a legitimate shot at playing in the Chick-fil-A Bowl if it can defeat Tennessee in the regular-season finale on Nov. 29 in Knoxville.I covered the Cats down there two years ago and I am going back. Neyland Stadium rocks.

* Finally, if you read this blog, I would love to hear from you.
