Calipari still creative

Credit Kentucky coach John Calipari for being creative.
Even if it’s an exhibition game, the Kentucky coach found a way for several former players to play another game in Lexington when the Kentucky Professionals team will take on his Dominican Republic squad on Aug. 15 at Rupp Arena.
The time and details of the game haven’t been finalized yet, but it looks like John Wall, the school’s first top NBA draft pick, will be joined by DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, Jodie Meeks, Nazr Mohammed, Keith Bogans, Tayshaun Prince and Rajon Rondo will play in the contest.
Wall, Cousins and Bledsoe helped lead Kentucky to the Elite Eight in Calipari’s first season with the Wildcats.
The Kentucky Pros team will be led by retired Kentucky coach Joe B. Hall and former Kentucky standout Sam Bowie.
The idea of involving former Kentucky players in an exhibition game and including Hall will make the contest an enjoyable one for the fans and give Hall another chance to coach at Rupp Arena.
Again, Calipari gets it and embraces the past, present and future of Kentucky basketball. He’s done it since he arrived on campus and continues to strive to make the program better than ever.
