Coaches to wear sneakers with suits to benefit American Cancer Society

This weekend, the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches will be sponsoring the “Suits and Sneakers” event to help the fight against cancer.
Former UK coach Tubby Smith serves on the Coaches vs. Cancer Council. Another notable coaches on the council include Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, UConn coach Jim Calhoun, Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, North Carolina’s Roy Williams and former Maryland coach Gary Williams.
Coaches will wear sneakers with their suits to help raise cancer awareness.
The George Rogers Clark boys basketball team will help raise funds during its game against Dixie Heights set for 6 p.m. Saturday at Norton Gymnasium. The school will pass the bucket to fans in the stands to collect funds for the project.
