It doesn’t get any better

In my 17 years as a journalist, I have covered hundreds of sporting events, written hundreds of stories and taken a few pictures along the way.
What I witnessed Friday night at Norton Gymnasium, could be the best regular-season prep basketball game I have ever covered between two region teams.
George Rogers Clark inched out a 56-55 win over Mason County in a region showdown between the two programs.
Clark was without its starting center and struggled through most of the game and was even down by 10 20 seconds into the fourth quarter.
Then Robbie Stenzel went on a tear and scored 15 points. His most important contributions were his THREE free throws with no time left to give the Cards the one-point victory.
What a game and what a finish.
