LEXINGTON – The Southeastern Conference released the 2012 football schedule Wednesday, including updates for Kentucky’s slate featuring the addition of Missouri and the deletion of LSU.
Along with the two adjustments of opponents, six of Kentucky’s eight SEC games have a change of date from UK’s previously announced schedule. In addition, UK will play host to Mississippi State for a second-consecutive season in order to balance a road trip to Missouri. The Wildcats’ non-conference schedule remains intact. The team’s open date will move to Nov. 10.
The schedule is still subject to change and could be adjusted to accommodate television. The league office noted that the 2012 schedule is not based on any other previous or future scheduling formats. The SEC athletics directors will convene in spring 2012 to begin formulating scheduling principles for the 2013 season and beyond.
