NCAA Tournament: Kentucky fun facts

*Kentucky has played Indiana in the NCAA Tournament three times in history:

March 17, 1973: Indiana 72, Kentucky 65
March 22, 1975: Kentucky 92, Indiana 90
March 24, 1983: Kentucky 64, Indiana 59

*Kentucky has a successful track record of avenging losses in the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats lost to North Carolina 75-73 during the regular season, but defeated the Tar Heels 76-69 in the East Region finals.
Kentucky lost to West Virginia in the 73-66 in the East Region finals at the Carrier Dome in 2010, but defeated the Mountaineers 71-63 in the third round last season.

* Since the 1999 Southeastern Conference Tournament, Kentucky has compiled a 10-2 record in the Georgia Dome. Kentucky is 66-29 all-time in games played in Atlanta.

* Kentucky is 32-11 all-time in the NCAA regional semifinals. The Wildcats defeated top-seed Ohio State a year ago in the region semifinals.

* Of the 16 teams remaining in the NCAA Tournament, 12 of those were ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll before the the Big Dance began. Kentucky, Syracuse, North Carolina, Michigan State, Kansas, Ohio State, Baylor, Wisconsin, Indiana, Louisville and Florida were each ranked.
