I had the opportunity to meet Michelle Rodgers in a golf scramble to benefit the Clark County Junior Miss program in May at Southwind Golf Course.
She has a charming personality and she’s a pleasant person. I had a picture taken with Michelle that day, as did Winchester Sun publisher Dave Eldridge.
The past weekend, Michelle was named national Junior Miss in Mobile, Ala. and became the first contestant from Winchester elevated to such status on the national stage.
Today as I was leaving the premises for lunch, I ran into Michelle. I took her on a short tour of the newsroom, introduced her to managing editor Randy Patrick, and showed her my office. She liked the newsroom and said this writer’s office was “sportsy,” which accurately describes this writer’s work space.
Michelle then picked up her parking pass for the July 4 celebration planned for Friday night at Lykins Park from Dave. We are proud of Michelle for her accomplishments and wish her well in her future endeavors.
