UK Basketball: NIT may be best option

Kentucky’s chances of making the NCAA Tournament hinge on the team’s success in the Southeastern Conference Tournament this week.
Kentucky, which has made the NCAA Tournament for the past 17 years, has made alternate plans in case the the the Wildcats don’t receive a bid from the NCAA selection committee.
A likely scenario has Kentucky playing its first-round NIT game at Memorial Coliseum.
In a season that has been filled with disappointment, such a game in the school’s former home court would be fun to watch and cover.
I have never watched or covered a Kentucky team play an opponent at Memorial Coliseum.
Kentucky won’t be able to play at Rupp Arena in the same week because of the Boys’ Sweet Sixteen basketball tournament, has been booked for that particular week.
